The Eco Committees of both the High School and Primary School met to carry out a litter pick on both premises. Working in teams the pupils did an excellent job of spring cleaning the area.
The Eco Committee have been developing a quiet garden over the last two years. This year our Eco Committee have helped in a school assembly. They welcomed Laura from Keep Wales Tidy to introduce “Coral”, a fish from the Ironworks at Oswestry. Coral is currently resident at the front of school. Our intention is to fill Coral by the 27th October with crisp packets?

Our Year 3 classes have been learning about meadow flowers and their importance in our natural world. Both classes visited New Chapel Hay Meadows where they worked with Joe Arrowsmith, learning about the diversity of meadow plants and animals. The Eco Committee are continuing to develop the quiet garden. Plants sown last year are blooming. This year pupils are working on a partnership project with the High School to create a statement about our school vision “Roots and Wings”. The Eco Committee met with Zoe, the Community Link Officer from the Co-op. They explained to her what they have achieved so far in the “Quiet Garden” they are developing.
