Year 5 and 6 have been learning about firework safety.
Mrs Ashton’s class went shopping at our local Coop. It was the perfect place for a maths lesson – price comparisons can be quite a challenge.
The learners enjoyed a big write session this morning where they wrote their 500 words competition entry.
Pupils in Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful time when they were visited by Simon Airey from Corner Exotics recently. Miss Rees’ class have visited the Wild Oak Cafe, Llanidloes to view an art exhibition by local artist, Amanda Skipsey. We enjoyed looking at the art on display and had a hot chocolate.
Mrs Ashton’s class have been baking. They worked in small groups to produce 72 flapjacks and 72 chocolate chip cookies. These were sold at 50p each in almost 72 seconds! This year our Eco Committee have helped in a school assembly. They welcomed Laura from Keep Wales Tidy to introduce “Coral”, a fish from the Ironworks at Oswestry. Coral is currently resident at the front of school. Our intention is to fill Coral by the 27th October with crisp packets?
Today we have being exploring the forest, using magnifying glasses. We have also made shelters for the animals and being on ‘Senses Hunt’ around the forest.
