At Llanidloes Primary School we value involving parents and carers in their children’s learning. Working in partnership with parents and carers is central to the Early Years Foundation Learning. Working cooperatively with families and consulting about children’s early experiences helps staff in school to plan for effective learning, and helps support parents in continuing their children’s learning development at home.
We provide workshops for parents; literacy workshops, explaining our approach to reading and phonics and parent courses such as Incredible Years. Workshops are designed to give parents and other family members the skills and confidence they need to support their children’s learning at home through play and everyday activities. We hope to improve communication between parents and practitioners and develop effective partnerships and to improve educational outcomes for children.
